Thanks, everyone, for the birthday wishes. [info]kinzel provided a day at the ocean, with Italian for lunch, though not, alas, tiramisu. We picked up a couple slices of cheesecake on the way home and they made a fine and celebratory statement.

I have now, I note, been married for more than half my lifetime.

High tide at Wells Beach was wicked high (this is, I think, a technical term). I can testify that the marsh waters were but three feet below the surface of the causeway, and that the Beach in Wells was not evident <b>at all</b>. We did venture down the stairs to where the beach usually is (because, well, risk-taking is my middle name. ahem), only to be seriously splashed by non-trivial breakers halfway down.

We're home now, to find that the power had gone out for Some Time. Me, I'm going to go re-set some clocks and then I think I'll lounge on the sofa and...read.
